Product counterfeit is a major issue plaguing the DR industry costing ERA members millions of dollars every year. ERA has opened up a new process with Amazon for members to report counterfeit products. This new program has two options for communicating directly with Amazon. They include the following:
Amazon asked that ERA members test these options and share their experiences with ERA.
How It Happened
Two years ago the ERA Asia Committee put an initiative before the Association’s leading marketer CEOs to engage ERA resources in seeking solutions to the serious problem of counterfeit products. First steps included the creation of a counterfeit task force to retain legal counsel to identify the most prolific and malicious counterfeit organizations in China.
In parallel, marketer CEOs participating in the ERA CEO Summit identified increased counterfeit activity on the Amazon platform as a major source of concern. Due to one member’s previous outreach to Amazon, ERA opened a dialogue with Amazon and identified the new program for members to report counterfeit products.
These results demonstrate the value of an industry coming together through its trade association to advance and resolve an industry-wide issue directly impacting your bottom-line.
Amazon to Keynote Government Affairs Fly-In
Additionally, ERA is excited to announce that Julie Bainbridge, Director of Product Quality at Amazon, will Keynote the 2014 ERA Government Affairs Fly-In, May 20-21 in Washington, DC. This is another amazing opportunity for you to communicate directly with Amazon.
A Strong Combination that Benefits Your Bottom-line
The combination of the new process with Amazon and their willingness to engage directly with ERA members at the Government Affairs Fly-In provides two new powerful opportunities for members to improve their bottom-line.
We look forward to receiving your feedback about the new program and to seeing you at the Government Affairs Fly-In this May.
