BY LEANNE GABINELLI - Today marks ERSP's 10-Year Anniversary Event. The half-day conference will feature three exciting panels, and include opening remarks by Lesley Fair, senior attorney, Division of Consumer & Business Education, Federal Trade Commission.

The first panel will be a reflection on the origins of the ERSP program. Panelists, which include Linda A. Goldstein (Manatt), Dan Danielson (Mercury Media), and Tim Muris (Kirkland & Ellis), will explore the state of the industry at the time of the program’s inception.

The second panel looks to the future of advertising self-regulation in the direct response industry. Mary Engle (FTC), Ed Glynn (Edwards Wildman), and Jon Congdon (Beachbody, LLC) will discuss the role ERSP may play in addressing the industry’s ongoing and evolving needs. The panel will be moderated by ERA’s President & CEO, Julie Coons.

Finally, the half-day conference will conclude with a look into the telemarketing industry. Peter Marinello (director of ERSP) will moderate a conversation between Lois Greisman (FTC) and Jeff Knowles (Venable LLP) and will discuss new ERSP endeavors such as the ERSP Review Program, a voluntary program to monitor telemarketing sales calls and live seminar events.

Directly following the panels, ERA will host a cocktail reception to celebrate 10 years of ERSP and to kick off the ERA Government Affairs Fly-In.
