The Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (ERSP) is thrilled to announce the agenda for its May 12th ERSP Summit at SunTrust Headquarters in Washington, D.C. During this year’s afternoon event, “Self-Regulation in the Evolving DR Industry,” professionals will focus on the prevailing trends in the direct response industry, including the recent regulatory scrutiny of backend business practices. At the half-day workshop, panel members will highlight key issues from the past year and discuss ERSP’s latest self-regulatory endeavors.
The half-day conference will feature two exciting panels along with remarks from the Federal Trade Commission.
The first panel will provide attendees with an update on the ERSP Review Program, which is a voluntary participation-based program to monitor and review telemarketing and live seminar recordings for the coaching and mentoring industry.
At the mid-summit “Fireside Chat,” Ed Glynn (Lock Lorde Edwards) will conduct a one-on-one interview about adverting regulation with a “soon-to-be announced” high-ranking official from one the country’s leading consumer protection agencies.
The program will conclude with a sneak peek into one of the most recent hot-button issues, the proper communication of negative options/continuity plans, as well as a discussion about the need for meaningful self-regulation in this space, particularly in light of recent regulatory inquiries. Among the featured speakers on the panel are Len Gordon (Venable LLP) as moderator, Jennifer De Marco (Allstar Marketing) and Marc Roth (Manatt).
Directly following the panels, ERA will host a cocktail reception to kick off the ERA Government Affairs Fly-In. ERA members and non-members are welcome to attend the event, which begins on Tuesday, May 12th at 1:00 p.m.
