I am truly excited this year about the Government Affairs Fly-In 2017 and our companion event, the ERSP Summit, which will take place May 23-24 right here in Washington, D.C.!

This year is already a huge success for these events with incredible speakers lined up for our industry guests.

From the Federal Trade Commission, we have Frank Gorman, Assistant Director Enforcement, Lois Greisman head of the Division of Marketing Practices, and Rich Cleland, Assistant Director for Advertising Practices.

We will be joined by State Attorney General Karl Racine (D-DC) and are expecting to announce the participation of other assistant attorney generals soon. If you're having issues with state attorney generals, we have you covered.

It's also great to see so much participation from the legal industry community. The list reads like a who’s who of claim and substantiation regulatory compliance:

  • Amin Talati Upadhye
  • Guardian Law, LLC
  • Locke Lord LLP
  • BakerHostetler
  • Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC
  • Invictus Law, P.C.
  • Davis Wright Tremaine LLP
  • Venable LLP

From the Hill, U.S. Senator Luther Strange (R-AL) will be this year’s legislative keynote. I recently wrote a blog post about “Big Luther” Strange III and why he is important to the direct response community. If you haven’t read it, here's your chance to check it out.

We have vast and ongoing support from across the membership base, as well as registrations running strong. Our ability to engage on behalf of the industry with the regulatory and legislative communities heavily relies upon this support from you within the industry. I want to give a big shoutout to this year’s attendees for helping make the Fly-In such a phenomenal occasion of association and advocacy.

Finally, our industry’s leadership is often found again and again from within the ranks of this year’s financial underwriters. Their support is a key component that helps us provide this forum of engagement. I am proud of their involvement and know that all the stakeholders of the Electronic Retailing Association ecosystem are proud of them for stepping up to the plate.

If you haven’t registered yet, there is still time so act now! I look forward to seeing everyone there.
